The mala has always been used by Buddhists and Hindus when reciting mantras. Compared to a prayer bead, it helps to focus the mind on meditation.
Traditionally, it takes the form of a long necklace made up of 108 Rudraksha beads, which can be alternated with other beads or semi-precious stones. This number carries many meanings in the Buddhist tradition.
In the form of a bracelet, the Wisdom mala is made up of 24 small Rudraksha beads and 23 gemmy amethyst beads. Grown in India, Rudraksha pearls are actually seeds from the Rudraksha tree. - Sit down in a quiet place where you can relax and feel at ease.
- Choose a container of water in which to place a few fresh flowers. Add your Wisdom bracelet.
- Light a stick of incense to enhance the relaxing atmosphere
- When you're ready, take your mala in your hands and cleanse each bead one by one. Visualise your intentions and transmit them to the beads. A protective energy will emanate from the mala.
- Chant the mantra "OM HREEM NAMAH SHIVAYA OM". It translates as Shiva's tears
